Helping Hand of CKSC School

Our school, Chiang Kai Shek College made a lot of efforts to help the victims of super typhoon Yolanda by creating various volunteer activities and collection of donations. Students, teachers and other school staffs helped donating and collecting instant necessities like water, ready-to-eat foods and clothing. The collected donations of CKSC community was brought to the Armed Forces of the Philippines and was received today. Kudos to everyone who gave their helping hands for the benefit of the typhoon Yolanda victims, because just like what Miss World 2013 Megan Young said, "as one, we can help society."

Moreover, CKSC also made an allocating campaign of adopting students from the affected areas of the super typhoon Yolanda. A total of 28 students from Sacred Heart School and Leyte Progressive School in Tacloban city have transferred to CKSC provided with free tuition, school and PE uniform, and a dormitory to stay in case they don't have a relative to stay with in Manila.

This is our school's ways to help alleviate the aftermath of the strongest typhoon. It's great to hear that a lot of countries are helping us get through this devastation but the bad news is that after watching the heartbreaking news of Yolanda's aftermath, another heartbreaking news of the crazy government segregating the relief packs and stamping their name on the plastic containers of relief goods is circulating. There were a lot of controversies about the relief operations. Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez said that the barangay voters were the only beneficiary of the relief goods. There should be no system or rules implemented when there's such crisis like this! We need a revolution!

Help Yolanda PH Victims

Let's give a helping hand for those people who were affected by the strongest typhoon ever recorded! The super typhoon named Yolanda but internationally known as Haiyan hit last Friday, 8th of November. The intense typhoon immensely devastated Visayas the central part of Philippines, particularly in the provinces of Leyte, Samar, Cebu, Aklan, Antique, Capiz and Ilo-ilo. You can barely watch TV news because you'll only see hefty effects and damages made by Yolanda. We should help each other in order to build resilience. Don't be ashamed of donating a measly amount of money or relief goods, as it will be collected and victims will really appreciate it because every drop counts.

Publicity Asia release: To help the communities severely affected by Super Typhoon Yolanda, the country’s three mobile giants — GLOBE Telecom, SMART Communications and SUN Cellular are jointly offering 25 free SMS per day for five days that may be used for local and international messages.  This will be available to all their customers in the provinces of Leyte, Samar, Cebu, Aklan,  Antique, and Capiz from November 13 to 17.

“This free service is open to all Globe and TM subscribers in these Visayas provinces.  This is the company’s way of giving assistance to our customers who suffered from the typhoon’s onslaught and who need to reach out to their family and friends in the country and abroad,” said Peter Bithos, Chief Operating Advisor for Globe Consumer Business Group.

“This is a time for Filipinos to come together and help our countrymen in their hour of great need.  This joint effort will help Smart, Sun Cellular and Talk ‘N Text subscribers in the typhoon-struck areas to communicate with their loved ones at home and abroad,”  said Charles Lim, Executive Vice President of Smart and Chief Operating Officer of Digitel Mobile Philippines.

The three operators came to this unprecedented agreement in response to the extreme devastation caused by the super typhoon. They are also working to restore their respective services and assist emergency relief activities of the government and humanitarian agencies.

Semester Break Party

This year's semestral break is too short for us to enjoy that we had to pitch the party earlier! So just like last year, we played water gun and balloon fight albeit water balloons were seemingly more essential this time! The water balloon hitting wasn't that painful, you can still handle the tiny touch of it and forget about it because you're having too much fun! Pretty much like a stoic! Haha! We also invited more close friends for us to enjoy partying with, the more the merrier right? Scroll down to see more of what we did during the party! :D

We also planned to swim but the barangay election non-working holiday killed it! Well, we had to ensure that we'll keep seizing the day that's why we moved to the next game! Angelique also came out of the blue which made us ecstatic! xD

We went to the next game which is picnicking! All thanks to Dana for the pizzas and mojos from Shakey's! We also played truth or dare during the picnic wherein we had so much fun! Hahaha! Then we finished the party by having an impromptu photoshoot! We'll share just a little glimpse of the pictorial! xD

This is our last high school semester break and we're still not ready to face college! But in lieu of fretting over it, we're having the best of our life as teenagers, high school students and most prominently, as friends! ♥
