Coffee Chitchat with Girly Geek

GirlyGeek.Ph recently held a contest in commemorating its first blog anniversary! 500php Starbucks card and a coffee session were prizes up for grab! Since we wanted to learn more about blogging, we decided to join! Kiwi was one of the winners and the other one was Pau of perksbewithyou.wordpress.com! The meeting happened at Starbucks 6750 in Ayala Avenue, Makati. Ms. Irene Enriquez, the girl behind Girly Geek PH personally suggested some of her favorite Starbucks drinks and snacks. The winners preferred frappe and sandwiches while Ms. Irene grabbed a tea even though she's a hardcore coffee lover! She ordered a tea in lieu of coffee because she already had caffeine intake earlier. :)

The chatting started even before the meals were finished. We took time to get to know each other first. Ms. Irene gave us some helpful tips about blogging and freelance writing! Here are some of Girly Geek's recommendations:
1. Know your target readers. Who do you want to read your blog? Choose a topic that people can relate to you!
2. Document your blog post ideas. This will make it easier for you to remember what was on your creative mind!
3. Select some helpful plug-ins. Add blog plug-ins that could make sharing and commenting easier for your readers!
4. Write about something trending. Observe what's currently viral on the internet and have your own entry about it!
5. Socialize with other bloggers. Learning from the experience of other bloggers will make it easier for you to excel!
These five tips were just a few of what Ms. Irene taught us. There were more things we learned from her which we will not disclose here anymore. In case you're not familiar with Girly Geek PH, it is a tech blog handled by Ms. Irene Enriquez. She writes about mobile games, applications and other technological gadget-related topics. She also covers events or campaigns of tech news. Thank you Ms. Irene for sharing your knowledge and expertise to us beginners. :)
