Solaire Mixology

Immense summer heat is finally setting down because June is the month where rain starts to pour regularly. The gloomy weather gives us the breeze feeling that we utterly love, but our body can't really withstand the weather change shock from intense heat to sudden chill. Our body needs moderate temperature ergo we need something to keep us warm. Drinking liquor is undisputedly a way to muffle our body from the freezing cold plus it gives us a taste of a delicious drink. Several lifestyle and entertainment bloggers were converged to a mixology event by Solaire and the event was held in Finestra at Solaire Resort & Casino. Solaire Mixology was not an ordinary food and beverage event like any others where you only taste this and that. You get to interact with the people and things around you. They taught us how to infuse taste and mix ingredients to make the perfect delectable cocktail. :D

We were asked to get a partner but we can still opt to work alone. The ingredients and utensils were completely organized and they're absolutely ready to be used. The initial drink that we made was named Duchess. Apparently the name shows femininity and it was because the signature drink was infused with sweetness which makes it more suitable for women. Duchess is a dessert cocktail, more feminine as it is sweet. It has a mango and pomegranate foam on top. A version of a classic Manhattan with cranberry and berry liquor.

The second cocktail was Margarita! Most of us probably listed this as our favorite drink because we were able to make our own baby pearls to deck the drink! Making the pearls and putting it in the drink was fun! Moreover, the taste of this drink is just subtle and enough for your sweet tooth. Classic all-time favorite cocktail made in 1941 at Mexico, stories told that drink made to a daughter of a German ambassador to Mexico named Margarita Henkel.

Moving on to the next drink which has something to do with technology and time. Please welcome, Aged Negroni! They purchased a luxurious little barrel from Japan that has the ability to create ice ball. The orange ice ball is the main decoration of this cocktail. The drink is aged in an oak-barrel cask for a month and it makes the flavor develop through time which kept in aging. Negroni is a popular Italian cocktail made in Florence, Italy during 1919.

We're not yet done with technology! The last drink also requires a technological tool to enhance its flavor. Smoked Russian is basically a vodka infused with tobacco kahlua. This drink has a delicate taste of a strong alcohol, it is not preferable for women. Recommending this drink to all the fathers out there! Vodka is infused with hickory chips smoke using the smoking gun. Infused the kahlua with tobacco for an hour. Use a cinnamon stick to mix the ingredients and garnish the drink. Smoked Russian is a variation of black Russian cocktail.

The mixologist expert was generous enough for letting us try this liquor ball as our finale. Hold on for few more minutes, the event is not yet over because they held a contest for us! It's our time to make our own signature drink! :D
Only few photos were captured during the making of our original cocktails since all of us have to participate and we can't hold our gadgets while mixing different liquids. There were performers entertaining us with their awesome juggling whilst the judges were deciding the winners. Coincidentally, all the winners have the same color of cocktails and surprisingly, our team won! Together with Mervin of The Food and Travel Buff, our WinVin Cosmopolitan got the first place! All thanks to the bartender that helped us throughout the event. They toured us around Solaire and showed us their finest restaurants afterwards. Then we went to Lucky Noodles to get something to eat. All of us bloggers were able to chat and get to know each other better after the fun-filled and interactive event. Thank you so much to Solaire, Sir Myk and Filipino Bloggers Network for giving us an opportunity to experience Solaire Mixology! :D
