ToyCon 2014 Day 3

It has been our annual tradition to visit the Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention. We may have blog about the cosplay event only once which was last year but the reason for it is because we haven't started blogging back then. This year's ToyCon was more festive because they're celebrating the 75th anniversary of Batman! Moreover, they were able to display the authentic movie costumes of Rurouni Kenshin! Their ticketing was immensely convenient, you can purchase a ticket at the first and second hall gate. There's even a tax-free ticket price for senior citizens! There were two booths available per gate to make it more easy and to accommodate all the con goers faster. The ticket was hard and hefty unlike any other cosplay events! Plus the entry stamp was shaped like Batman's head! Could it get any grander than this? Inside the halls were toys, comics, booths, food stands, miniature and lifelike figures display! :D

Camera used was Canon SX50 HS

A specific spot was placed for the food section. It was near the stage so that you could enjoy watching performances whilst munching your meal. Bar-type round tables were available for people who will have their lunch or snack. :3

Enough of the toys and figures, let's now move on to cosplayers! The event was surprisingly not thronged with a huge crowd, simply because most of the cosplayers were outside the Megatrade Halls. Cosplayers were staying at the connection to the recently built ice skating rink. Since most cosplayers were flaunting their costumes outside, photographers and cosplay enthusiasts were also there to have their photos taken. :D
If you're a gamer nerd then you probably enjoyed the gaming stations. Music lover? ToyCon invited a set of bands to perform during their three days event! The Cosplay Queen of the Philippines, Alodia Gosiengfiao was also present and she just recently launched her signature bags and shirts! Overall verdict is that ToyCon utterly innovated compared to the past few years! Their location in SM Megamall is usually hot but this year is not the same case. In addition, they are planning to move their venue in SMX Convention Center near SM Mall of Asia! What do you think of this plan? Should they move or not? You can actually vote your thought on their official poll. See you again at next year's ToyCon! :D

  1. Very nice coverage and pictures of the con (even better than mine). By the way, I was there during that day as well, dunno if I ran into you but I saw some of the cosplayers you have pics of. Tiring, but enjoyable for sure. Whether next year ToyCon will move or not, I'll see if I attend by then. :)

You can check out my post on this event @ http://ametromanilaguy.blogspot.com/2014/06/toycon-2014.html I'll be uploading more pics in the future.

I've already commented here before, on your Ozine fest post, by the way. :)

    1. Hello! Thank you! We should meet up next time then! Haha! We actually prefer SMX but the recent event made SM Megamall congruent to our first bet. Just checked your post and it definitely has more details! Yup, you're blog is familiar! :D

    2. You're welcome! Probably, not sure about that. Just a question, are any of you cosplayers or just con-goers?

Well, whatever venue they choose whether SMX or stay at Megamall even though I can go to both, as I said I'll see by that time, depends really. ^_^

When I said better, I was referring to the pictures. I should've made it more clear.

Yeah, again I went here. And by the way, I followed your blog :)

    3. Yup! Clarence always attend in his Assassin's Creed costume! The rest of us don't usually cosplay because the weather in our country is just unbearable. That's great! You can always improve so no worries! Thank you so much for following our blog! :D
